Under my Umbrella, Ella.

Parapluie. Paraguas. Umbrella is a fun word. In every language.
She's too cool. It takes a lot to pull of a white lace parasol, AND to match it to your dress.
Miami has been dealing with Tropical Storm Nicole and she seems to be making her way north to The City. I love rain. Not when I'm running errands, need to buy groceries and attempting to go for a jog, but generally speaking we're friends.

Here are my picks for top rainy day fashion:

Waterproof Art, what could be better?!

Get it at: http://tiny.cc/hpwdj, $65
Smother yourself in Kisses.

Kisses from Marc Jacobs, who can resist?! Buy it at Shopbop.com. $48
Don't get lost amongst the beige masses!

APART Jewel Trench
$299, apartstyle.com
And if you like to stick to the classic downpour protection, indulge in these charms. I *heart* pendant necklaces. The more delicate, the sweeter. The more random, the better. There's nothing like having a little silliness around.

For those dedicated to my newfound umbrella obsession, the Tiffany Umbrella Charm and Necklace. Charm, $975, Link Clasp Necklace, $3250.

I love the name of this shop!

*hearts* for architecture

I go through phases where I'm all-modern, all-the-time. These would be exhibit A. So would the Architecture class I suffered through as a college freshman...but I digress.

They were purchased on a Tuesday afternoon and exemplify the meaning of an "impulse purchase." The best part about impulse purchases is that, I find, there's a 99.9% success and satisfaction rate. Because if you knew in a split-second you had to have it, odds are you will always have to have it.

I *heart* them. And the removable strap.
Jeffrey Campbell AMAZINGNESS

Please wear with everything. Dresses, shorts, jeans, slouchy trousers & every fall sock assortment you can muster. Happy Friday!!

A lil sparkle for your day

In my internet crawlings this morning I stumbled upon this New York Mag article that is too funny not to share. They've made a scale of how & why Gossip Girl earns, let's say, street-cred (streets being 60th thru 85th bw 5th-3rd aves).

I haven't watched Monday night's episode but I already know I'm quoting blair if I'm feeling lack lustrous, because maybe we're all just "waiting...to feel sparkly again!"

And if you want to add sparkle & I usually do, brave these sequin leggings that I surprisingly *heart*. I know, I know. Leggings usually earn all 3 strikes for me.

BUT, hear me out. Wear these with black booties, elongating your already amazing legs, a white tee and I say a grandpa cardigan. They work for dinner, a late movie or date night. Don't you want to feel sparkly too?!

Please read for your indulgence. Remember it's Thursday, which in college basically meant weekend had arrived.

hi blogspot!

I think I found my new home. This was as equally daunting as apartment shopping in August.

About me, I'm J. Within the last year, an increasing population around me has dropped the remaining three letters of my name. I'm still not sure why...
I'm not actually a slave to fashion. But when I find what like, I fall hard "in like" with it. That's why I say j*hearts*__, because you can't give away all your lovin'. So the Beatles told me.

I work with APART, which is unfair to my pocket, which is usually stuffed with receipts from last week's coffee.

I wear this necklace most days:
Tiffany Keys Heart Charm

I do heart fall more than any season. And I do whine through winter about how I miss it. But I won't mind looking through these spring shows to make it through.

First 2 looks from left, Oscar de la Renta. (who doesn't love some Oscar?)
3rd look, Luca Luca. Such a sweet spring we'll have!

Milly Spring 2011
I'm usually not for mod but I look the poised look of the line this season.
Last, but I don't believe least, is my reminder that it's actually getting cooler not warmer. The Taos Sweater at apartstyle.com.

This sweater makes me think of halloween, which I think rivals awesomeness with christmas and valentine's day. What are you being? I'm between a smurfette and Hester Prynn.
